How do I know you're the right therapist for me?

You don't. That's why I suggest that you look into a few therapists, and have a consultation with each of them. From there, pick the one that you feel would work best for you. If I happen to make it to your shortlist, you can schedule a free consultation with me. I wish you the best of luck finding someone great!

Do you provide video and phone sessions?

I provide video sessions on a safe platform. I generally do not offer phone sessions, but we can discuss this option to see if it can work out. Due to COVID-19, I am not providing in-person sessions.

How much do therapy sessions cost?
Each session is 50 minutes long, for $140. My services are not subjected to HST taxes, so $140 is the final cost.

The fee covers a variety of things: our time together, required administration and documentation, research and continuing education, as well as clinical consultation.

 

Why is the session not 60 minutes long?

It is not a full hour because I use the 10 minutes after sessions to prep, and to make sure my body and mind is fresh and ready for my session with you. In my experience, this makes our time together more productive, which speeds up the overall therapy process, so you can spend the time and money on things that you love instead.

 

When are you available for sessions?

I see clients on  Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 9 am to 12 pm. However, I may have availabilities during other days and times, as my schedule changes. Please feel free to contact me to check.

 

Do you accept insurance?
Most extended health benefits or employee benefits do cover my services. Please check with your insurance provider for the details of your coverage. After each session, I send you a receipt that you can use for your claim. I am however, not covered by OHIP.
 

What forms of payment do you take?
I accept etransfer, cash, and cheque as forms of payment.
 

What if I need to change or cancel an appointment?
I totally understand that life happens, and you may have to make changes to your schedule. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please let me know 48 hours in advance by emailing, calling, or leaving a message. Late cancellation and changes will be billed at the full rate.

 

This ensures that I have time to fill in my work hours, and it also helps us to stay committed in achieving your goals by preventing last minute cancellations. Let's get you where you want to be!

What should I expect in the first visit?
The first session is a bit different from other sessions. It will be our first introduction. We will go through some paperwork, and discuss how the information is kept and safeguarded.


We’ll take some time to get to know each other, and talk about your goals for therapy, and what you expect out of our time together. We will discuss the process of therapy, and you can ask me any questions you have about the process and what it is like to work with me.

You must be a caring person, to be thinking about the mental wellness of your community. Please feel free to refer them to my website. They can schedule a free 15-minute consultation.
